Silent Hill demotivational by ChrisLoland Silent Hill demotivational by ChrisLoland
Always wanted to make a demotivational poster. One day I had enough free time on my hands to do something that wasn't very constructive so I made this.

Grammar fault, I know :P

If you don't get it the simple explanation is that SH is an absolute mind f**k of a place.
"There was a hole here. It's gone now"
Simple enough, self explanatory.

Could have just meant that there was a hole in the window and they must have patched it up with newspaper.

Either way when I played the game it puzzled me for ages, and know a few people who felt the same... Purely because... Well... You're in Silent Hill :la:

Nothing special.

Just for those who think the hole concept is foreseeing the fourth game, SH4 wasn't originally created to be a Silent Hill game. It was made to be a new horror series but since the project seemed to go nowhere when they were near completion they added a few references to Silent Hill and called it Silent Hill 4.

Wrong, it’s very easy to comprehend it..

I always assumed the “hole” was the window and since they covered the window with the newspapers, the “hole” is now gone.

Never played silent hill. Is there a joke i'm not getting here? I know there are tough riddles and all kinds of nonsense in the games, but this ... I was litteraly about to say it's incomprehencable, but I guess that's the fuckin point isn't it?

Well I'm sure it's in one of the 107 comments and maybe I'm wrong and stuff but if I remember correctly there actually was a hole there in silent hill 1.

In SH2 there is also a newspaper article about Walter Sullivan and a tombstone with that name on it. So there are definately connections between those 2 games.

I think you could throw a rock into the window if you played on hard all and it was somewhere inside the store , but you had to beat both parts first. Its been awhile since I last played it.

For some reason the first thing I think when I read that is "Break down the wall". ((Haven't played silent hill, but I have seen people play it))

Great poster. The first and only SH game I played was SH4, so the "hole" reference hits home.

Something eerie to think about, is that the hole being covered is possibly meant to foreshadow Silent Hill 4. The hole that is "gone now" means Walter has claimed another life. Another person who couldn't save their life, even with the portal hole. I like how they made several things to foreshadow the events of Silent Hill 4. You think Walter Sullivan is just another name that appears, then silent hill 4 comes out.

I love this....not sure why, but I do. XD It seems simple enough right? "There was a hole here. It's gone now." Some one who does'nt really get how Silent Hill works might just think "Oh well some one fixed it."

But if you're Silent Hill minded and know how deep some of the stuff in the game makes you think, it could mean all kinds of things.

Is it an elaborate metaphor? Symbolism for the main character? Is it a reference to SH4? Is it implying there's some one else running around in Silent Hill fixing holes? lol Is the town ALIVE and trying to trap you and F with your brain?

To me by far the most confusing part of this game was that freaking note. And who wrote it? Some psycho, or does Pyramid Head like obscure philosophy? -OH! Excuse me I have an idea now!-

SH2 and 1 are the best and only ones for me. Others are not so great. I cant decide which one is better. First or second. Second has better story and emotional scenes and everything and first one is well first. Sorry for bad english

Watch Samurai Jack Episode XXXV: Jack and the Haunted House (available on iTunes if you can't find it online). You'll get it when it comes up.

Personally, this part of the game felt real. I would have started freaking out in real life, like, major hyperventilation and al the other quintessential freak-out stuff.
(If you still don't get it after this, just ask me to explain further. It's no hassle.)

Jack is in this house, following this little girl he spotted from a distance, who dropped her doll while running. He follows her to a house, which he instantly finds odd. He searches for a way in, and comes across a door with a silhouette of someone with a candle. He opens the door slightly, and is freaked by a swarm of moths. Annoyed, he opens the door and finds a room that looks like it has been abandoned for some time. He enters and accidently knocks over a bowl which rolls (for an unnatural amount of time) and stops in front of a shrine.
He sees a flash of someone at the shrine. Before he can figure anything about it, he sees a whisp of smoke traveling into the next room. He follows and enters a room with a trapdoor (instantly, he senses something very wrong with it). He looks around and finds a toy boat. He sees another flash, one in which something comes out of the trap door. He avoids the trap door and quickly gets out of the room.
Just then, he spots the girl up a flight of stairs. She runs, and he follows. He comes to another room, which looks even more abandoned than the first. With no sign of the girl, he calls out. After no response, he decides to leave the doll for the girl to grab whenever. As he walks away, he hears he grab it and run behind a chair. He grabs her, and asks who she is, and if the house is her home. She starts crying, and jack asks what's wrong. She won't tell him, and he decides to leave that till later, as he believes that they should leave (like, NOW).
He goes to the door he came in through. It's not there. Only bricks.
"Impossible! There was a door here!" The girl starts looking fearful, and Jack grows increasingly alarmed. He grabs the girl and runs through the house to the room where he found the girl, intending to go out one of the windows that are there.
More bricks.
Now properly freaking out, he starts shouting, "There was a window here! And here!". He runs along the length of the now brick wall, shouting this over and over.

Long story short, stuff like the above picture, when put atop an already nonsensical and disturbing environment and strange series of events, will amount to the straw on the camels back.
Sanity is surprisingly fragile when reality stops acting like you expect.

There's no way that this is just coincidentally foreshadowing the fourth "Silent Hill" game.
I say it's some creepy, fog induced destiny. Maybe I'm just a dreamer, though :)

The hole is James and his guilt over mary. Henry is in Silent Hill to "fill" said hole, in which he faces the truth and his sins. So I guess the town believes he can overcome his sins, and knows that when his sins are resolved, the hole will be gone.
