Description

Second piece of my A level art exam to coincide and contrast my Pre Tephra piece (found here [link]). Took 5 hours and about 7 layers (again, like to keep my amount of layers quite low.)

The theme is, still, destruction and deterioration. As a second piece this is meant to represent the contrast of natural destruction (which may or may not be influenced by man) which is basically flooding. This piece is to contrast Pre Tephra which represents fire and it being manipulated by man, HOWEVER the element of water as we know is much harder to control and seems a dormant evil. One of the types of flooding is Estuarine flooding which is caused by tidal surges and stormy winds. So aye, that's where the name comes from :dummy:

What I originally tried to do with this failed on the day of the exam so I had to approach this piece in a different way and improvise the technique, which still ended up representing the theme nicely anyway, so s'all good! :la:

As you can tell the evil eyebrow looks a bit dodgy. In the original photo I'd taken of myself and manipulated didn't look very evil at all (especially after invert, chrome filters and all that shizz) so had to use burn/dodge and liquefy to make the thing look more evil.
